How will hypogonadism impact my lifestyle?

When diagnosed with hypogonadism, it is very important to look at your lifestyle and find ways to improve your health by making important lifestyle changes such as eating a well balanced diet, exercising regularly, quitting smoking, and reducing stress and anxiety.   A healthly diet is high in fresh fruits and vegetables and low in processed foods. Calcium and vitamin D can be enhanced through diet and supplements. Smoking increases the likelihood of erectile dysfunction because people who smoke have higher rates of atherosclerosis (fatty deposits that cause narrowing of the arteries). This can affect arteries throughout the body, including the penis.
