Sexual Health
Sexual medicine is the medical specialty of human sexuality and its disorders. It consists of promotion of healthy sexuality, prevention of disease, and diagnosis, treatment, and rehabilitation of sexual disorders and conditions that affect sexual function.
Sexual disorders in men are grouped into the following categories:
- sexual desire disorders: hypoactive sexual desire, low sexual interest or desire
- sexual arousal disorders: erectile dysfunction
- ejaculation and orgasmic disorders: rapid (premature or early) ejaculation, delayed ejaculation, anejaculation (absence of ejaculation), retrograde ejaculation, anorgasmia (inability to achieve orgasm), painful ejaculation
- sexual pain disorders (genital pain)
- Peyronie’s disease (penile curvature)
- priapism (prolonged erection)
