Rapid Ejaculation
Rapid ejaculation is also knows as premature ejaculation. Your partner might tell you that you’re too quick on the draw. Medical websites will call it a lack of ejaculatory control. No matter what you call it, at some point in their lives, most guys will experience rapid ejaculation.
Some experts define an ejaculation that occurs within two minutes of penetration as “premature”. Over 80% of these men tend to ejaculate in less than one minute. Ejaculation is different from an orgasm; ejaculation is simply the release of semen from a guy’s body. An orgasm is that nice sensation that usually accompanies ejaculation in men.
It’s estimated that 30% of men suffer from rapid ejaculation, but most guys don’t talk about it. In Hollywood movies, TV shows (and yes, even porn), we’re subjected to images of guys having marathon sexual encounters, lasting hours in bed without breaking a sweat. In reality, studies suggest that the average time from penetration to ejaculation is about two to three minutes. It’s important to know whether you’re ejaculating prematurely, or whether you’re expecting Hollywood results in your real-life bed.
With rapid ejaculation, men often complain that ejaculation happens within a few strokes following penetration; some ejaculate before penetration occurs. When you think about it, guys are probably designed to be quick shots – after all, back in prehistoric times, “survival of the fittest” probably meant “survival of the fastest”. Nowadays, sex is more about pleasure than procreation, so partner satisfaction has become an important issue for guys. For some, fast is no longer considered ideal.
