Prostatitis (Prostate Infection/Inflammation)

Prostatitis is an inflammation or infection of the prostate gland. This can occur at any age but is the most common problem for men under the age of 50; so common that almost one half of adult men will be treated for it in their lifetime. Prostatitis can occur in several different forms: bacterial, non-bacterial, and chronic pelvic pain disorder. Prostatitis is usually not a life threatening condition (unless a severe infection goes untreated), but it can be a very troublesome disorder.
