Testicular Health
When was the last time you felt your testicles?
Even though testicular cancer is rare in teenage guys -- it generally affects men between the ages of 15 to 35. It is important for you to become familiar with the normal size and shape of your testicles so you are alert to anything that may feel abnormal in the future.
What are you waiting for? Grab your “boys” and feel around for anything unusual.
Some things to know:
- The first sign of testicular cancer is commonly a little (pea-sized) lump on the testis.
- Other signs include enlargement of a testicle, a dull ache in the groin, lower stomach or scrotum.
- Cycling or other similar sports does not lead to testicular cancer.
- One testicle is generally larger than the other—this is normal.
- Lumps or swelling may not be cancer, however if you feel anything odd or abnormal, you should contact your doctor. If caught early, testicular cancer is most often curable.
